According to the Australian Veterinary Association, chocolate could lead to toxicoses or poisoning, and lead to vomiting, diarrhoea, seizure, coma and even death – it could prove to be a very costly Easter egg if your canine friends accidentally gets hold of it and if you do not have pet insurance coverage!

Dr Liisa Ahlstrom, Bayer Australia, Technical Service Veterinarian, says remedy for chocolate-connected illness could expense up to $ 1,500, based on the breed of dog and severity of the case. Out-of-hours charges are also probably to see the total bill increase significantly.
