Robert De Niro to Portray Enzo Ferrari in Big-Spending budget Biopic

Appears like the star of Raging Bull is about to enter the fold of the prancing horse: Robert De Niro has confirmed to an Italian newspaper that he’s slated to play Enzo Ferrari in a film due out in 2016.

The 71-year-old Hollywood legend will portray il Commendatore over the majority of his career—from the automobile company’s founding right after WWII by way of Enzo’s final days in the 1980s.


Triworld Cinema owner Gianni Bozzacchi has been chosen as the movie’s producer. “The film will be titled Ferrari and will be based on an epic story,” Bozzacchi told Italian newspaper Il Messaggero. “It will have a high budget and will cover a wide span . . . in a twisted game of eras and episodes.”


Script writers Stephen J. Rivele and Christopher Wilkinson, recognized for their operate on Oliver Stone’s Nixon, have been related with the forthcoming biopic. Reports indicate that Clint Eas2od has expressed interest in directing.




Of course, there’s a lot that has to take place among now and the promised 2016 release, but De Niro says the production, which will take location mainly in Italy, “has absolute priority more than all my other projects.”
