Czech This Bit of Blue

I know I know it’s one more blooming BlueStream, but I just cannot help it. You know I get these infatuations with particular trucks and I undoubtedly have the blues at the moment. On my way residence down the A12 to Colchester and just as I’m about to come off at my junction there is this lay by which is where the 300 yard marker is for the junction. The lay by was empty and it’s a extremely clear evening, I saw the back finish of a quite sensible frigo trailer and the unmistakeable blue shine at the front end.. I went property and told the wife that I would be pooping out about 10pm when the site visitors on the A12 quietened down. For what ever cause Mrs Blog doesn’t bat an eyelid when I say I’m going back to a darkened lay by, she knows why. For what ever purpose my passion for trucks more than takes and I just have to go back and try and get a photo.

Now a truck photo in a lay by isn’t also considerably of a dilemma, or so you would feel

  1. The truck is at the finish of the lay by

  2. The street lights are in the centre of the carriageway and finish about half way along the layby

  3. The layby is a drive by means of a single with a little kerb separating it from the carriageway

  4. There is no light on the front grill of the truck

  5. My camera requirements a tripod to take night images

  6. There is still lots of traffic

  7. I don’t want the police to turn up considering I’m about to run out on front of the traffic!

I managed to get some ideas on how to use my camera by way of the Canon G12 group on Facebook. I nonetheless, have Mr Jensen Chua’s directions saved on my phone and as you can see he knows his sh*t. They have come out quite effectively. All these photographs have a 15 second exposure as there was no light at the front of the truck. Placing my camera on a tripod on the outside edge of the kerb of the lay by was the greatest idea nor was placing the camera in the middle of the drive by way of lane of the lay by………..but it was worth it, I’m quite pleased with the benefits. Thanks Jensen and thanks to Neil Jarrold who recommended employing the vehicle lights to assist, so I put the reverse lights on the car, in order to place a little light on the front grill.

I consider the reason why I adore the BlueStream so significantly is purely the colour.  I seem to get blinkered by a beautiful shade of blue and it appears to just lure me in. Romance isn’t dead Richie! Helped by getting attached to a 730hp Scania V8 in this case, it truly is a leading looking motor. My only thoughts are it need to appear even more great all lit up, pity the driver was currently in bed. The BlueStreams are available worldwide, but I wonder if this is the only one particular operated out of Czech Republic??

Rocketing prosecutions

Blue badge fraud prosecutions have doubled more than 3 years, according to figures from the Local Government Association (LGA).

There had been 686 effective council prosecutions last year, up from 358 in 2010-11. Manchester City Council was particularly successful, achieving a 100% conviction price, with far more than 500 prosecutions over the last 5 years.

Shameless criminality

The criminals are really quite shameless. Some were caught making use of a dead relative’s badge or leaving a disabled particular person at property to get free of charge parking whilst shopping or at operate.

As Robert Goodwill, transport minister, says:

“Pretending to be disabled to dodge parking costs and restrictions is plain shameful and prevents those who have genuine need for Blue Badge from receiving to the parking spots they require.”

Fraud crackdown

The increase in prosecutions is partly down to a crack down on parking fraud making use of new powers that have been granted in 2011. It is now less difficult for councils to seize fake badges or badges that are getting misused.

Bogus internet sites

The Department for Transport is also warning of web sites that charge men and women to apply for a Blue Badge, when it is totally free to apply from a neighborhood authority or via www.gov.uk

If an application is productive, the council charges an administration charge of up to £10 for the badge, but there is no application fee.

Neighborhood guidelines

Blue Badges are administered by the local council, which can supply info on the nearby parking rules. The scheme is nationwide, though it does not operate in some town centres and particular London boroughs, where parking is currently restricted.

Blue Badge holders might also be eligible for additional concessions. London residents, for example, are exempt from the Congestion Charge.

Misuse penalties

The Blue Stream is available world wide but the UK industry also has the Golden Griffin specific edition. Any way here’s the Scania press release for the Blue Stream.

Go with the flow – Scania now presents a custom-constructed, restricted edition truck based on the Scania Streamline model and Scania’s unique V8 heritage. Blue Stream has an R-series cab styled and enhanced in collaboration with Svempa Bergendahl, the legendary Swedish custom truck builder. The special truck will be produced in 200 numbered units in Södertälje as a tribute to the original Scania Streamline introduced back in 1991 – the 1st, actually aerodynamic cab in the heavy truck business.

“With the re-introduction of Scania Streamline last year, we got a lot of optimistic feedback from consumers who had been driving the original 3-series Scania Streamline back in the day”, says Kristoffer Nyberg, Item Manager Long-haulage at Scania Trucks. “Many especially recalled the striking appearance of the light blue truck with pink and purple striping. When we decided to honour that icon with a limited edition model of the new Scania Streamline, we of course wanted to involve Svempa considering that there is no greater man for the job. The restricted edition Blue Stream is characterised by a exclusive metallic exterior, striping and interior information and is created by Scania’s normal production program, which permits fantastic flexibility.“

“We had been thrilled to get this assignment,” says Jan Richter, head designer at Svempas. “We were of course tempted to use the original infant blue colour, but, even although iconic, we wanted something that reflects 2014, and ended up with a more vibrant blue metallic colour that alterations tone depending on viewing angle and light circumstances.”

The heritage from the old Streamline is apparent in the striping, but when once again more up-to-date, created to improve the class-top aerodynamics of the truck. The distinct Scania V8 style characteristics are further emphasised in the glossy black front grille. Inside the cab, a wide range of attributes are included although other alternatives can be specified by the customer. Probably the most visible interior styling feature with Blue Stream are the exclusive, ventilated leather seats, with their exclusive stitching in contrasting colours.

“Blue Stream will be a distinctive but yet cost-effective truck inside its segment”, says Nyberg. “The styling is bold and striking, but make no mistake, we are speaking about trucks that are very effectively-suited for any hard transportation job that requires the sort of strong energy that Scania’s V8 engine provide. Coupled with a complete air deflector kit and standard hallmark values such as Scania Opticruise and class-leading fuel efficiency, Blue Stream will be just as productive as any other Scania.”

Blue Stream will be obtainable on all Scania markets collectively with Scania’s V8 engine range, regardless of emission classification, with energy outputs ranging from 500 to 730 hp. It can be ordered as a rigid or a tractor in any standard configuration with Highline or Topline sleeper cabs. Each and every unit will be numbered with a Blue Stream badge on the dashboard.

To additional mark their exclusivity, all Blue Stream trucks come with the following packages, which are typically optional:

- Lighting package
– Driver package
– Prestige package
– Comfort package

The final specification will be set in a dialogue with each consumer. Other factory options such as cat-walk, further storage etcetera, can be ordered factory fitted from Scania, depending on customer preferences.

“Each Blue Stream will be unique,” adds Nyberg. “But they will all have in typical that they carry the Scania Streamline heritage additional, even though delivering each profit and pride to their owners.”
