I know I know it’s yet another blooming BlueStream, but I just cannot help it. You know I get these infatuations with particular trucks and I certainly have the blues at the moment. On my way residence down the A12 to Colchester and just as I’m about to come off at my junction there is this lay by which is where the 300 yard marker is for the junction. The lay by was empty and it is a extremely clear night, I saw the back end of a very smart frigo trailer and the unmistakeable blue shine at the front end.. I went residence and told the wife that I would be pooping out about 10pm when the targeted traffic on the A12 quietened down. For what ever purpose Mrs Blog doesn’t bat an eyelid when I say I’m going back to a darkened lay by, she knows why. For what ever explanation my passion for trucks over takes and I just have to go back and try and get a photo.
Now a truck photo in a lay by isn’t as well significantly of a difficulty, or so you would consider
- The truck is at the finish of the lay by
- The street lights are in the centre of the carriageway and finish about half way along the layby
- The layby is a drive by means of one with a modest kerb separating it from the carriageway
- There is no light on the front grill of the truck
- My camera requirements a tripod to take evening images
- There is nevertheless lots of visitors
- I don’t want the police to turn up pondering I’m about to run out on front of the targeted traffic!
I managed to get some tips on how to use my camera via the Canon G12 group on Facebook. I still, have Mr Jensen Chua’s directions saved on my phone and as you can see he knows his sh*t. They have come out fairly nicely. All these pictures have a 15 second exposure as there was no light at the front of the truck. Putting my camera on a tripod on the outdoors edge of the kerb of the lay by was the greatest idea nor was placing the camera in the middle of the drive by way of lane of the lay by………..but it was worth it, I’m extremely pleased with the benefits. Thanks Jensen and thanks to Neil Jarrold who recommended utilizing the auto lights to aid, so I put the reverse lights on the automobile, in order to place a small light on the front grill.

I believe the purpose why I adore the BlueStream so significantly is purely the colour. I seem to get blinkered by a beautiful shade of blue and it appears to just lure me in. Romance is not dead Richie! Helped by being attached to a 730hp Scania V8 in this case, it truly is a leading looking motor. My only thoughts are it should look even a lot more great all lit up, pity the driver was already in bed. The BlueStreams are obtainable worldwide, but I wonder if this is the only a single operated out of Czech Republic??
