Benoni Flying Squad has arrested 9 suspects for truck hijacking at Isando. The suspects are aged between 30 and 40 years.
Police received information about a hijacked truck whilst they were conducting patrolling duties.
The owner of the truck activated the tracker signal after which police followed the signal and found the suspects offloading copper to the value of R300, 000.00. A total cash amount of R26, 000.00 was found in possession of one of the suspects.
The truck driver and his assistants disappeared. At this stage their where abouts are unknown. Further investigations are being conducted.
