Talk about an Oscars surprise! Some of the on-stage bits at this year’s Oscars award ceremony may possibly look a bit forced, but Cadillac’s all-new “Dare Greatly” ad campaign slid smoothly into gear for the duration of the commercial breaks. Besides displaying off Cadillac’s new New York digs, inspirational “dare to ___” examples, and lots of slow motion, 1 of the very first commercials closed on . . . drumroll . . . the automaker’s but-unseen 2016 CT6 flagship luxury sedan!
The CT6 isn’t set to be completely revealed until the 2015 New York auto show, but millions have been given a bare show of the sedan’s clean flanks, strong front-finish styling, and its sheer length. Make no error, as we’ve surmised from spy photos of CT6 prototypes testing, the new Caddy is a full-size, rear-drive luxury barge that casts a shadow as huge as the BMW 7-series, Audi A8, and the Mercedes-Benz S-class. It’ll use a important amount of aluminum to maintain weight down, and its name officially marks the beginning of Cadillac’s new alphanumeric naming method.
We’ll need to have to wait until the New York show for complete details and a far better appear at the CT6, but for now, we dig what Cadillac has shown us. Check out the commercial for oneself below, and spend close attention at the end.
