It has been a good day for the member attached to provincial command centre when 13 suspects were arrested yesterday( Wednesday 2014-11-19) during an operation clamping down on stolen vehicles and hijackings.
During patrols and by following up information a total of 10 suspects between ages 19 and 52 years were arrested for being in possession of stolen vehicles. Six vehicles stolen in Lentegeur, Stellenbosch, Paarl, Bothasig and Mitchells Plain were recovered and confiscated.
3 suspects between ages of 27 and 40 years were arrested for hijacking and 2 vehicles hijacked Harare and Nyanga were recovered.
2 of the suspects are also being charged for house robbery and possession of stolen firearm, 9mm firearm and toy firearms were found in their possession. Once they are charged, the suspect are due to appear in various courts in the Peninsula.
