The report from Vauxhall Motors was aptly titled Are We Practically There However? with this becoming the question that regularly infuriates about 45% of respondents.

Regularly being asked to pull in for a toilet cease was cited by nearly 40% a third are persistently concerned about young passengers suffering with motion sickness and 22% do not enjoy having to fiddle around with musical requests.

The survey also asked about the strategies adults use to maintain their youngsters entertained and located 93% of 5 to 18-year-olds now use hi-tech phones or tablet devices on lengthy journeys. 

Road trips ‘a staple part of British life’;
