The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni on hearing of the arrest expressed her disgust at the conduct of the police officer. “I am extremely disappointed to hear of yet another member involved in criminal activity. We will ensure that detectives throw the book at him as soon as he is released from hospital. We will not tolerate police officers who are criminals themselves and you can be assured that disciplinary processes will be immediately initiated to get rid of him from the service,” she said.
